Son muchos los dibujantes de cómic que han ofrecido su particular versión gráfica del genio de Seattle a lo largo de los años: desde Jean Giraud (Moebius) a Philippe Druillet, pasando por Bill Sienkiewicz (autor de la biografía titulada 'Voodoo Child: La Leyenda de Jimi Hendrix'). Pero hasta hace poco desconocía esta magnífica ilustración perteneciente a Dave McKean, por ser relativamente reciente (2011).
Como acompañamiento sonoro, os dejo con mi canción favorita del repertorio hendrixiano: 'All Along the Watchtower', perteneciente al álbum 'Electric Ladyland' (1968), la maravillosa versión del tema original de Bob Dylan de 1967. Una de esas raras ocasiones en que una versión supera al tema que homenajea (al propio Dylan no le dolían prendas en reconocer que la canción de Jimi era superior a la suya). Hendrix conseguía darle la vuelta completamente a este himno hasta tal punto que puede decirse que se trata de dos canciones distintas. ¡Disfrutad!
